ALEXIS SANFORD, FOUNDER

Before founding Spot Inquiry, Alexis worked in advertising as a brand strategist and qualitative researcher working with agencies like BBDO West, Fallon and Team One. She honed her research and strategy skills working on brands such as Starbucks, Nordstrom, Lexus, and Visa. Through these experiences, she came to believe that brand strategy belongs at the level of mission and vision — and that it profoundly influences leadership and organizational culture beyond communications. She left the agency world in 1999 to explore how coaching, leadership theory, organizational development and mindfulness could impact her brand clarity practice.
Alexis graduated from Princeton University with a degree in English and American Studies. She then went on to become a divemaster and scuba instructor sharing her love of the underwater world to travelers in Costa Rica and Grand Cayman. She is also a graduate of the Authentic Leadership Program of Naropa University and received her coaching training through Quantum Coaching.
Alexis lives in Austin, Texas. She is the mother of two daughters and the passionate coach of the Ninjas — an all girls soccer team that fuels her enthusiasm, spirit, and belief in the power of teams.
